James Shafstall is a guitarist, singer, and songwriter from Northern Wisconsin. His music is best classified as Americana, but injections of blues, jazz, country, and even classical music make his shows a journey through the unexpected. James streams personal passion through his guitar work and voice, and there is always a sense of a story lying just under the surface. He puts his unique stamp on songs you know, and his own compositions are lyrical, memorable, and meaningful.

In addition to leading his own solo shows and fronting the James Shafstall Band, he uses his accomplished guitar skills in support of various other area artists, as a member of Molly Otis’s band, the Blue Canvas Orchestra (Big Top Chautauqua’s legendary house band), Nick Kuka & the Rocky Mountain Regulators, and other artists.
